The Library and Archives have launched its brand new webpages. It has never been so easy to learn about our collections and how we can help your research.
The Library and Archives team have recently been working hard to create clearer, more in-depth webpages to provide information about our collections, services and work. We are very proud of the end result and hope you like them too.
The pages can be accessed directly from the Museum’s main webpage under Our Science, and Collections.
Our new Library and Archives Search facility, which is embedded into the home page, allows quick and seamless searching across our collections for both paper and electronic holdings. It also provides the ability to see which e-journals and databases Library and Archive members can have access to when visiting our reading room.
We have organised the pages into easy to navigate sections which cover the services we provide to both museum staff and external visitors, our collections and further information about who we are and what we do.
This project has given us the opportunity to focus on parts of our collection and produce a Highlights section. Subjects covered include The Cook voyages, The Americas, Women artists and Modern botanical illustration. We have also identified collections relating to Richard Owen, Lionel Walter Rothschild, Charles Darwin and Hans Sloane amongst others.
We hope that you find these new pages useful and informative, and look forward to hearing from you if you have a question about the collections we hold, or if you would like to make an appointment to visit our research reading rooms.
